A woman calls the police thinking she witnessed a crime.
“I imagined a call to the police to report the presence of a suspicious male in a neighborhood. As the conversation progresses it feels like a dream or an impossible conversation. I was filled with a desire for gentleness after being overwhelmed by the recent events. The title is inspired by Langston Hughes’ poem, I’ve known Rivers. Poetry is my oasis in these troubled times.” – Miryam Charles
